Dulaang UP, the official performing group of the University of the Philippines, holds Summer Theatre Workshops from April 17- May 17, 2013. The workshops aim to provide young people an opportunity to explore and experience the processes involved in theatre production. DUP will open classes for Basic Acting, Voice, Stage Movement, Mask Making, Property Making, Puppetry, Production Design, Costume Design, and an Overview on the Art of Theatre. Participants will have a culminating recital on the last day of classes.

Basic Acting and Crafts Making will provide students with a strong foundation on voice for the theater, stage movement, acting techniques, and basic visual arts for costume and make up for the theatre.

Technical Theater Workshop will equip the students with the fundamentals of and practical experience with props, set and costume design.

All these will be facilitated by graduates of Theatre Arts from UP and practitioners of Theatre in and out of the university.

Dulaang UP enjoys a reputation for producing highly acclaimed productions of well-known masterworks of classical theatre as well as original works by Filipino playwrights. It has brought to the Philippine Stage quality productions such as Isang Panaginip na Fili, Orosman at Zafira, Noli Me Tangere: The Opera, Umaaraw, Umuulan Kinakasal ang Tikbalang, Fake, Collection, among many others.
