What is Shakespeare in Asia

The First University of the Philippines International Shakespeare Conference is a two-day conference on Shakespeare in Asia that engages several aspects of Shakespearean pedagogy, publication, translation, adaptation, and theatrical histories in various Asian locations. It features leading Shakespearean scholars from Taiwan, Japan, India, Korea, the United States, and the Philippines, and Filipino directors and playwrights who have produced and written adaptations of Shakespearean texts. The conference will be held on December 5&6, 2013 at the Pulungang Claro M. Recto, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

Who is Shakespeare in Asia For

The event shall be open to academics, teachers, researchers, students, theater practitioners who have an expressed interest in Shakespeare and a curiosity about Asian Shakespeare.
