Gregorio Laconsay was born on 12 March 1931 in Natividad, Pangasinan. He became the editor-in-chief of Bannawag in 1966, then promoted as Assistant Editorial Director of the Liwayway Publishing, Inc., and later took over as the Editorial Director of the chain of publications in 1977, before retiring in 1991. His novels include Ti Kabusor (1974); Ti Love Story ni Theresa (1971); Nalagda a Cari (1951); Rebelde (1957); Villa Verde (1959); Sacramento (1960); Purisima Concepcion (1961); Kadena Perpetua (1961); Kasimpungalan (1962); Rapanrupa(1963); Ti Ubiging nga Agpated iti Sangapirgis a Papel (1964); Dawel (1964);Littik (1965); Samuel (1966); Dagiti Agtawid (1967); Ti Biddut (1968); Nympho(1971). His other major works include Iluko-English-Tagalog Dictionary (1993) and Simplified Iluko Grammar (2005). He has received 27 major awards and recognition from various prestigious organizations here and abroad. His famous books about sex and life include Lalake at Babae (1974), Sex Education sa Modernong Lalaki at Babae (1986); Panalo Ka! (1990); My Sexpert Opinion(1984), among others.
