Phillip Kimpo Jr. was born on May 10, 1985 in Galas, Quezon City to Aklanon parents. He graduated BS Computer Science from UP Diliman. He was a Fellow for English Creative Nonfiction in the 48 th Dumaguete National Writers Workshop and 9 th UST National Writers Workshop, and for Filipino Poetry in the 9 th IYAS Creative Writing Workshop and 2007 LIRA Poetry Clinic.

He is the President of Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA) for the years 2009-2011, founding member of the Dapitdilim Fellowship of Writers, and member of the Writers Union of the Philippines (UMPIL). He was the overall project coordinator of the Sining ng Tugma at Sukat (STS) 2008 project of LIRA and the NCCA that taught poetry to ten towns in Luzon . He is finishing his first book of personal essays, “Corsair of Cor-Street.” An amateur photographer, his shots have appeared in a book and several magazines. Visit him at .
