Rosario Cruz Lucero holds a Ph.D. in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines, Diliman and is a professor at the Department of Filipino and Philippine Literature in the same university. Besides critical essays on the literature of the Visayas and Mindanao, she has published two anthologies of Hiligaynon literature (translated into Filipino) and authored collections of short stories, Feast and Famine, Herstory, and La India, or the Island of the Disappeared.
