Vivian N. Limpin is a graduate of B.A. Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino (Creative Writing in Filipino) from the University of the Philippines in 1995. She has published different writings in various publications, was a writing fellow in several writing workshops, and has won a Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Poetry in Filipino in 1995. She also does performance poetry.
She has designed theater lights, has exhibited her photographs in solo and group shows since starting as a photojournalist in The Philippine Collegian, and has won two photography awards from the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation, Inc.
She has done production work on a number of independent film projects since completing filmmaking and animation workshops at the Mowelfund Film Institute, including directing, scriptwriting, cinematography, production design, translating and subtitling, editing, animation, video documentation, and stills photography, and has screened her first solo experimental animation in several film festivals locally and abroad. She also won in the UP Film Institute’s 1st On the Spot Animation Competition.
She has exhibited her paintings and installation pieces in a number of solo and group shows, notably with the women artists group Kasibulan since starting painting in 2000. She also collaborates with Komikera on their komiks-on-the-wall and published indie komiks projects.
