Angelo V. Suárez was an MA Communication student at the University of Santo Tomas. He is the author of The Nymph of MTV and else it was purely girls. He won prizes from the Carlos Palanca and Maningning Miclat Foundations, and the National Book Award from the Manila Critics Circle and the first Bridges of Struga International Poetry Prize from UNESCO and the Republic of Macedonia for Nymph . He worked in close collaboration with visual artists on two books, s&wich and Dissonant Umbrellas: Notes Toward a Gesamtkunstwerk.
A proponent of conceptual writing in the Philippines, Suarez is the author of Circuit: The Blurb Project; Batch ’97 Haiku; and Maliit lang ‘yung sa ‘yo, itabi mo, magpadaan ka: Adventures in Parataxis.
He is also an artist and a curator. His day job is associate creative director at an advertising agency. He is based in Quezon City.
