Nazareno, Clovis L.

Clovis L. Nazareno was born on 1 October 1960 in Moto Sur, Loon, Bohol. He studied philosophy and social work in UP Diliman. He was a local fellow for drama at the UP Creative Writing Center, 1985. He has attended the UP Writers Workshop, 1985, the Silliman Writers Workshop, 1986, and the Cornelio Faigao Writers Workshop, 1988. Nazareno was a Philippine delegate to the ASEAN Fiction Writers Workshop in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand, 1995.

Currently, he is a municipal councilor of Loon and works as researcher of an NGO, the Bohol Integrated Development Foundation, Inc. He is a columnist in Bohol Times .

He has garnered several awards, among them, the 3 rd prize in the Graphic Fiction Awards, 1991 and the Palanca for poetry: 3 rd prize, 1988, for Horns of the World, with Benilda Santos and Elson Elizaga; 3 rd , 1989, for Fear in the World , with Eli Ang Barroso and Juaniyo Arcellana; 1 st , 1994, for The Link Immemorial , with Ma. Luisa B. Aguilar-Cariño.

Among his works are For My Friends , 1985 and Dearest Simeon Lugo , 1986.
