Imelda Morales is a Filipino writer who used to work for ad agencies such as OgilvyOne (Manila) the CRM and Direct Marketing/Digital Marketing arm of Ogilvy & Mather. She finished Business Administration from the University of Sto. Tomas, and took her Master’s in English (major in Creative Writing) at the University of the Philippines (Diliman). She is a thesis shy away from getting her Master’s degree.
Ime writes poetry and essays. She also writes poems and stories for children. She has published her poetry in various anthologies, magazines and broadsheets, and has attended national creative writing workshops and writing seminars. Her feature articles have likewise appeared in different magazines and newspapers published nationwide (online and print).
She is an officer of Kuting (Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting), an organization of writers for children in the Philippines. She has also been involved in projects that benefit underprivileged children and help promote learning and education through Isang Bata. She gives free workshops in public schools to teach feature writing, news writing and poetry.
Ime is a solo parent to a very promising young artist and musician Gillermo Santino. They live in Quezon City.
