The UP Institute of Creative Writing (UP ICW) invites everyone to the lecture, “What do Nick Joaquin and Bob Ong have in common?” by Prof. Rosario Cruz-Lucero. The lecture, which is part of the UP ICW’s Panayam Lecture Series, will be held on October 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the C.M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

Rosario Cruz-Lucero is a writer of  short stories and personal essays, for which she has won awards. She also writes scholarly articles on the literature and culture of West Visayas and Mindanao. She teaches Philippine literature and creative writing at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she finished a doctorate in Philippine Studies. Her recent collections of short stories are Feast and Famine: Stories of Negros and La India, or Island of the Disappeared, both published by the UP Press.

The lecture is open to the public.
