The UST Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies (UST CCWLS) has extended the deadline for accepting applications to its UST CCWLS National Writers’ Workshop 2015 to June 5. Applications are open to both Thomasian and non-Thomasian writers. The twelve applicants accepted will receive fellowships covering board and lodging, transportation from Manila to Baguio to Manila, and a modest honorarium. They will be expected to stay for the duration of the workshop, which will be held in Ridgewood Residence, Baguio City on July 19-26, 2015.
Submissions in either English or Filipino must consist of either two (2) short stories, two (2) works of creative nonfiction, two (2) one-act plays, or four (4) poems. Manuscripts should be submitted in hard copy and on CD, preferably in MS Word format, together with an updated resumé, a recommendation letter from a literary mentor, a certification that the works are original, and two 2×2 ID pictures.
This year’s Special Guest Panelist is U.P. University Professor Emeritus Gémino H. Abad, and the Workshop Director is Assoc. Prof. Ralph Semino Galán, Assistant Director of the UST CCWLS. The teaching panel will consist of the Center’s Resident Fellows and Associates, led by its Director, Professor Emeritus Cristina Pantoja Hidalgo: Augusto Antonio Aguila, Vijae Orquila Alquisola, Ina Abuan, Ma Ailil Alvarez, Michael M. Coroza, Mar Anthony Dela Cruz, Joselito D. Delos Reyes, Dawn Marie Nicole Marfil, Ned Parfan, Chuckberry J. Pascual, Jaymee T. Siao, John Jack G. Wigley, and Joselito B. Zulueta.
