We are inviting interested writers to submit poems in English and/or Filipino for possible inclusion in the 24th issue of High Chair’s online poetry journal, which will be released in June 2017.
We are looking for poems that seek a form for that which has yet to arrive at form; that commit to the history of verse forms by resisting their prescriptions; that trespass on extra-poetic territories; that work toward a form for the compulsion toward form; whose form discloses the thinking of language/material; whose form shapes and is contingent on the present, upon contemporary realities.
Prospective contributors may also choose to submit, along with their poems, a one-paragraph essay that reveals their propositions or questions about form, and how these are refracted in their own work.
Please visit our site (http://highchair.com.ph/) to get a more comprehensive idea as regards the work we do and the poetry we publish. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2017.
High Chair is a non-profit independent press based in the Philippines. Its first online issue went live in 2002, and the press has, over the years, published more than 40 chapbooks and full-length collections in English and Filipino.
Please email your submissions or inquiries to email@example.com (subject heading: High Chair Issue 24). Feel free to re-post and to circulate this call for submissions to those who may be interested.
