Barretto-Tesoro, Grace


Grace Barretto-Tesoro is an archaeologist. She is primarily interested in the materialization of Philippine indigenous beliefs. Her publications include topics on pottery, cosmology, status, identity, cemeteries, porcelains, earthenware, and stone-based houses. She teaches Philippine Archaeology, Cultural Archaeology, Field Methods in Archaeology, Laboratory and Applied Analysis, Mortuary Analysis, and Ceramics Analysis at the Archaeological Studies Program in UP Diliman. She is a member of the Katipunan Arkeologist ng Pilipinas, Inc and currently heads the Membership Committee. The National Museum of the Philippiines granted her a Research Associate Status. She has reviewed manuscripts for International Journal of Historical Archaeology, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Journal of Local History and Heritage, UP-Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Development, Philippine Quarterly of Culture and Society, Quaternary International, Critical Asian Studies, Diliman Review, University of the Philippines Press, Social Science Diliman Journal, Southeast Asian Studies, and Asian Perspectives. She currently heads the project on Human Adaptation and Climate Change in the Past.
