The UP Likhaan: Institute of Creative Writing has extended the deadline for applications to the fifth cycle of the Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio Writers Workshop. The new submission date is May 30, 2020.

The panelists are Banaue Miclat-Janssen, Juan Miguel Severo, Kooky Tuason, and Ralph Fonte among other seasoned artists as instructors for the fellows to be accepted this year.

Here are the guidelines with the adjusted deadline:

Emerging poets, spoken word artists, rappers, and emcees who are at least 18 years of age as of July 22, 2020 as of July 22, 2020 are invited to submit TWO (2) of their works or works-in-progress for this year’s cycle. Submitted workshop pieces should not have been previously published or performed in public. Any topic, theme, and style is welcome, although the length of each workshop piece is ideally 10 minutes maximum when performed. The language may be in English or Filipino; however, code-switching to regional languages is allowed provided that translations are supplied for the readers.

The entry must be accompanied by a video of a sample piece (linked or attached), a short biographical note of not more than 150 words, and the author’s photo. The author’s name must not appear anywhere on the written work. The complete portfolio must be submitted electronically to [email protected] on or before 30 May 2020.
