A Thousand Cranes is a poetry anthology that aims to increase awareness and appreciation for palliative care in the Asia Pacific region. We are seeking poems that embody themes of hope, mortality, resilience, and courage in the face of adversity.

Coping with death is not a topic that’s often discussed, and yet it’s an inevitable reality of every human life. Whether you are a patient, family member, friend, or healthcare professional currently dealing with terminal illness, hearing from others who have been through the same experience can be a source of strength and comfort.

With this anthology, Sing Lit Station (SLS) and the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN) aim to increase awareness for the concept of hospice and palliative care, and to facilitate thoughtful discourse surrounding this topic.
