The LIKHAAN: UP Institute of Creative Writing (UP ICW)’s GANAP series, is back with a second episode titled “MULAT: Mga Salita ng Pagsipat.” It will air on July 25, 2020 (Saturday) at 7:00PM.
Previously on GANAP, we celebrated Pride with members of the queer community as they performed poems that spoke of their experiences under quarantine. Our next airing will ride on the liberating winds brought about by the recent graduation season. The theme of this coming episode is independence.
MULAT is a tribute to last month’s celebrations of Independence Day. Moreover, it is a call to continue fighting for our right to good governance as our right to free speech is curtailed by the passing of the Anti-Terrorism Law and the shutdown of a media giant. Itis a reminder to keep our eyes open even as we are kept from looking at the real numbers of the COVID19 crisis.

In the fleeting lines of poetry, meaning is multiplied and discourse is distilled. On this episode of GANAP, these layers of words will speak of the many injustices we do not see as we remain in the safety of closed spaces. It will be a space where we can break silence and shackles.
May GANAP ba kayo ngayong Sabado? Tara na, samahan niyo kami para sa isang gabing mapagpalaya!
