Palihang Kataga: Seminar sa Pagtuturo ng Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat

Ngayong Buwan ng Sining, handog ng Kataga-Manila, isang sangay ng Kataga, ang Palihang Kataga: Seminar sa Pagtuturo ng Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat na gaganapin sa bulwagan ng Cinematheque Centre Manila, Pebrero 24-25, 2017 (8:00 n.u. hanggang 5:00 n.h.).

Ang mga inaasahang kalahok sa unang araw (Pebrero 24) ay mga guro ng Panitikan, Ingles, Filipino, at/o Malikhaing Pagsulat sa antas elementarya, high school, senior high school, at kolehiyo. Mga estudyante naman sa senior high school, kolehiyo, maging mga propesyunal na wala sa propesyon ng pagtuturo ang maaaring lumahok sa ikalawang araw (Pebrero 25).


Kritika Kultura Lecture Series presents Jan Mrázek

Doeppers titled “Feeding Manila in Peace and War, 1850-1945,” on Jan. 26, 2017, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., at Escaler Hall, Ateneo de Manila University. This event is co-organized by the Ateneo de Manila University Press. The lecture is open to the public.

The Filipino Department, the Dalubhasaan ng mga Umuusbong na Mag-aaral ng Araling Filipino (DANUM), and the College of Liberal Arts, De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines, in cooperation with the Aklan State University, are organizing the First International Conference on Philippine Studies (Third National Conference on Philippine Studies) for students, academicians and scholars in the said field. The conference committee will be accepting abstracts concerning but not limited to topics on Philippine culture, language and media. Abstracts on Asian culture, language and media are also welcome.

Kritika Kultura, the international refereed journal of language, literary, and cultural studies of the Department of English, Ateneo de Manila University—in partnership with the Rizal Library (AdMU)—presents “Teodoro Agoncillo’s The Revolt of the Masses: Text and Context After 60 Years,” a series of lectures featuring Paul Dumol, Vernon Totanes, and Resil Mojares. The event will be on Thursday, December 1, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., at the Rizal Library (4/f). The lecture is open to the public.

The lectures will revisit the text of Teodoro Agoncillo’s The Revolt of the Masses, reconstruct the context in which it was written and published sixty years ago, and re-examine its continuing influence on Philippine historiography. What made Revolt revolutionary 60 years ago? In what ways can it still be considered revolutionary now?
