In line with its 90th anniversary, the UP Writers Club will be publishing the 2017 Literary Apprentice with the theme of Resistance. Works with radical content or with concepts that are currently deemed too unusual or experimental by mainstream publishers are encouraged.

UPWC goes on a zine tour

Think literature can only be found in libraries and bookstores? Think again! The UP Writers Club is proud to present our mobile zine-selling event “Have You Zine It?”

Our zines, which are self-published literary booklets, are all made by members and alumni of the UP Writers Club. This week will find us coming out from the wilderness of the CAL kubo complex to bring home-grown literature to a college near you.

So if you want to read great stories and poems, but don’t want to spend a fortune on them, come visit us at the colleges and on the dates indicated! Who knows: they might inspire you to make your own zine in the future. All you need are the desire to be heard, something important to say and your friendly neighborhood photocopier.

There’s something for everyone.

Get to read someone’s love letters. Take a side in the many interpretations of the Alunsina/Tungkung Langit myth. Read stories about various bones. Discover different ways to read a zine. Discover different zines to read.

Find these and more during UPWC’s zine selling event happening from October 14-16, 2015!
