The Palihang Rogelio Sicat (PRS) now accepts applications to its sixth annual creative writing workshop for works written in Filipino, and other Philippine languages with translation in Filipino.
Interested parties may submit any of the following: five (5) poems, or two (2) short stories (10 – 15 pages), or two (2) stories for children; or, five (5) dagli (1-2 pp; traditional vignette), two (2) creative essays (10 – 15 pages); along with a bionote, photograph (2×2, colored). Manuscripts must be in 12 points, Arial, double-spaced, 8×11 size format. Forward applications and inquiries to email@example.com on or before 26 April 2013.
PRS 6 will be held at UP, Diliman on 22 – 26 May 2013. The UP Department of Filipino and Philippine Literature (UP-DFPL) spearheads the PRS. Workshop faculty directors include workshop co-founders Reuel Molina Aguila and Jimmuel Naval, and Luna Sicat-Cleto and Eugene Evasco.
Fifteen (15) writing fellows will be chosen. The national workshop is all expenses paid, including transportation to and from UP Diliman. Fellows will be given a modest stipend.
This year, the fellows from the PRS 1-5 are invited to attend the reunion party. Previous PRS workshop venues include Angono, Rizal; Palayan, Nueva Ecija; Baler, Aurora; Alfonso, Cavite, and Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.
