Heidi Emily Eusebio-Abad is an Associate Professor at the Department of English & Comparative Literature, College of Arts & Letters, University of the Philippines, Diliman, and the present Assistant University Registrar of UP. Aside from teaching grammar, composition, language and literature courses, she also handles creative writing classes, specifically workshops on writing for children and young adults.
She is a children’s literature writer and some of her publications include Of Jars & Weaves, Terraces and Beads: Icons of Our Living Culture (HSBC, 2006); Be Your Own English Teacher! Spelling (Milflores Publishing, 2005); Polliwog’s Wiggle
(Adarna Books, 2004); Colorless Rainbow (Paulines Publishing, 2002); Magnificent Pearl (Paulines, Publishing 2002); Ball of Wax (Lampara Books, 2001);Abot Mo Ba ang Tainga Mo? (Adarna House, 2001) which won the NBDB Gintong Aklat Award for Children’s Literature in 2002. Abad is a member of the Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting (Kuting), an organization of Filipino writers for children and young adults.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English (major in Imaginative Writing) and M.Ed. Special Education degrees from UP Diliman. At present, she is happily married and has four children, three girls and a boy.
