The UP Baguio and NCCA jointly sponsored Cordillera Creative Writing Workshop in its 4th season brings Palihan sa Panitikang Pambata (Workshop on Children’s Literature) which will be held on October 26-31, 2014, at the University of the Philippines Baguio, Baguio City.
Who may join
The workshop is open to all first time writers of children’s literature, at least 16 years old.
How to join
Submit any of the following: three (3) poems for children or one (1) story for children.
Entries must be original and unpublished. Entries may be written in English, Filipino, or in the indigenous languages provided that these are accompanied by the author’s translations in English or Filipino. Submit your entry as Microsoft Word attachment together with your resumé via email to [email protected]
Deadline for submission of entries is August 30, 2014.

The formal launch of the UPB-NCCA Cordillera Creative Writing Workshop will be held coinciding with the UP Baguio College of Arts and Communication TALASTASAN LECTURES which will be held on June 27, 2014, 01:30-3:30 pm, at the UP Baguio Library Circulation Section. The speakers are Prof. Anna Christie V. Torres, PhD, Dean of the College of Arts and Communication who will present her paper titled “Commoditization and the OFW Phenomenon in Contemporary Philippine Children’s Stories” and Prof. Junley L. Lazaga, Chairperson of the Department of Language, Literature and the Arts who will discuss “Pagsasalin Bilang Framework ng Pagtuturo ng Panitikang Pambata.”
The Talastasan is open to the public and is free of charge.
