Kritika Kultura, the international refereed journal of language, literary, and cultural studies of the Department of English, Ateneo de Manila University, in cooperation with the Rizal Library, will organize a series of university-wide roundtable discussions on interdisciplinarity. In the roundtable series, different academics from various fields gather to talk about the recent developments—foremost of which is the implementation of interdisciplinarity—in higher education.
In this series, scholars, practitioners, and administrators engage in dialogue and critique as to how interdisciplinarity is imagined, understood, and practiced. The series will be divided into three main categories: the historical, operational, and institutional aspects. The roundtable aims to contribute to ways in which interdisciplinarity is defined and practiced in the general education curriculum of higher educational institutions. The second installment—on the practice of interdisciplinarity—will be on Sept. 8, 2014. The third installment—on the institutional implications of interdisciplinarity—will be on Sept. 22, 2014. All sessions will be in the 4th floor, new Rizal Library.
