The UP College of Music (UPCMu) will be holding “Kundiman Redux,” the second concert of the AHA Concert Series Season 2 on September 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., Abelardo Hall Auditorium, UP College of Music.
The concert will feature the Ripieno Ensemble composed of gifted students and alumni from the UP College of Music. Founded in January 2015, the Ripieno Ensemble is known for its performance on Philippine and Southeast Asian contemporary music. The Ripieno Ensemble is the official ensemble of the Manila Composers Lab (MCL), a non-profit organization established in 2008 comprising young composers dedicated in the development of a new music culture in Southeast Asia.
One of the highlights of the concert is the rendition of Nicanor Abelardo’s Bituing Marikit performed on his very own piano. Adding a modern artistic version of the kundiman, the concert will also feature spoken word artists Sofia Paredes and Bianca Bonifacio.
Tickets cost at PhP 500.00 and 250.00. Students and senior citizens can avail a price discount. For ticket reservations and inquiries, you can call 926-0026 or email: [email protected]
