Lawrence Ibale Velasco is the second among the four children of Emilio Ramos Velasco Jr. and Erlinda Maningding Velasco Ibale. He was born on October 6, 2001 at Baler Memorial Hospital, Baler, Aurora.
At a young age, he started proving himself by gaining awards in district and division level competitions such as story retelling, Odyssey of the mind, science news feature writing, speech choir and many more.
Having an overprotective family, he only tried table tennis as his sports. Aiming high to make his parents proud, he graduated as first honorable mention at Mucdol Elementary School, year 2014.
To start his life’s another chapter, Lawrence chose Wesleyan University – Philippines for his junior high school journey. After a year he transferred at Dipaculao National High School where he continued his JHS journey as a campus journalist. For the first time, his parents let him pursue his passion for taekwondo and successfully won medals inside and outside the campus. For the first time, he won at Division School Press Conference as 1st place in Sports Writing English Category. He was a consistent honor student throughout his JHS year. For the first time, he made his parents proud as he moved up in year 2018.
He is presently studying at Aurora State College of Technology as senior high school Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics student. As days passed by, he learned to cope-up and learned new things. He was given the opportunity to join the Pambansang Kampong Balagtas as the highlight of his Grade 11. For the first time, ASCOT joined DSPC and he was very lucky to be part of this, history was made as ASCOT’s The Catalyst bagged 4rth place overall while he won 3rd place in Sports Writing – English Category considering this as one of his SHS highlights.
