To kick off 2021, we went live with the much-awaited sequel of “I Have Something to Say: Women Writers on Political Maturity and Substance in Writing.” There are so many other permutations of being a woman, and one cannot assume to speak for every other woman in their own writing. Thus, it is crucial to have many different women writing their own narratives to ultimately create the whole picture of what it is to be woman.
For this episode, we are joined by four more women writers: Stefani J. Alvarez, Jhoanna Lynn Cruz, Roda Tajon, and Beverly Siy.
Si Stefani J. Alvarez ay ang awtor ng ‘Ang Autobiografia ng Ibang Lady Gaga’. Siya ay isang trans woman at OFW na nakabase sa Saudi Arabia.
Jhoanna Lynn B. Cruz teaches creative writing in the University of the Philippines Mindanao in Davao City. She wrote an opinion column, Lugar Lang, in the Mindanao Times from 2016-2018 before online harassment from Duterte supporters forced her to quit. Her Davao memoir, Abi Nako, Or So I Thought was published by the UP Press in 2020.
Roda Tajon is a member of Gantala Press and works for a non-government organization that promotes the rights of indigenous peoples in the Philippines.
