TUNGKOL SA MGA TAGAPAGTANGHAL
Joey A. Tabula is a general internist, anthologist, publisher, and poet from San Antonio, Zambales. He was the editor of three books including “Pagninilay: Hinga, Hingal, at Hingalo sa Panahon ng Pandemya” published by UP Manila last year. He has been a workshop panelist in the 2020 and 2021 CNF Workshop for Doctors by the Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center. He is the vice president and publisher of Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA) and a board member of Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL). He is currently writing his thesis for MFA in Creative Writing at the De La Salle University.
Dr Sue Locnen is a practicing cardiologist and an assistant professor in a medical school. The pandemic has led her to rediscover the love for writing. She was one of the fellows of the 2nd Bienvenido N Santos Creating Nonfiction Writing Workshop for Doctors.
Noel P. Pingoy is a proud graduate of the Davao Medical School Foundation. He is an internist/hematologist/medical oncologist practicing in Gen. Santos City. He has been to writing workshops as fellow for creative nonfiction. His essay “Becoming a Hematologist” won a prize at the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature. He co-edited Bulawan: Interviews with Filipino Medical Oncologists ( Alubat Press, 2019) and Pagninilay: Hinga, Hingal, Hingalo sa Panahon ng Pandemya (UP Manila, 2020).
Dr. Celestine Trinidad finished her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, where she is also currently practicing. In her spare time, she writes fiction of various genres, some of which have been published in print and online venues, such as Philippines Free Press and Philippines Graphic. She was one of the fellows of the Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center 2nd Creative Nonfiction Writing Workshop for Doctors.
Rey A. Isidto was a graduate of Medicine from West Visayas State University and had his residency in Internal Medicine from WVSUMC. He underwent subspecialty training in Nephrology from National Kidney and Transplant Institute. He is principal investigator and national lead investigator for the Philippines of clinical trials involving chronic kidney disease and its sequelae. He was a fellow of the recently concluded Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center 2nd Creative Nonfiction Writing Workshop for Doctors.
Higit sa lahat, iniibig ni Ralph Fonte ang mga sumusunod na bagay: ang liwanag na lumalagaslas sa buklat na aklat tuwing maulan ang hapon, ang karagatang nasusunog taki-takipsilim, ang mahahamog na umaga sa tuktok ng mga bundok, at maiinit na mangkok ng sabaw tuwing alas tres ng madaling araw. Siya ay manggagamot at makata mula sa Kalakhang Maynila na lumitaw na sa iba’t ibang lathalain gaya ng Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Cordite Poetry Review, TOMAS, at Likhaan: The Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature ang mga akda. Nagwagi na rin sa ilang patimpalak tulad ng Gawad Carlos Palanca at ng Gawad Maningning Miclat ang kaniyang mga tula. Kasalukuyan siyang naglilingkod bilang doktor ng kagipitan. Nangangarap siya ng ulan.
